About Me

My name is Drew Hastings. I am 20 years old, currently. After these 20 years of life, I’ve noticed that people tend to ask me the same questions. The first question people ask me is if I am in college. The answer to that question is no, college is expensive and I don’t know what I want to do as a career. After hearing that (sometimes disappointing) answer, the next question that people jump to is what I do. I’ve had quite a few jobs including pharmacy technician, theme park ride operator, and most recently a customer service representative. While I don’t mind sharing the answers to these questions, I am more than just what I do for a job. Keep reading to find out what I like and who I am.

Christian

I am a Christian and proud of it. I make an effort for Christ to be first in everything that I do. Without God, none of this life makes any sense. Why are we here? Where do we go when we die? How should we live our lives? All the answers to these questions can be found in the Bible, God’s holy word. It is through Christ that we are forgiven of our sins so that we could be transformed and transform the lives of others.

This is Life.Church West Wichita, my home church. And while I no longer live in Wichita, this church is still home to me.

Photography

When it comes to children, you’re not supposed to pick favorites (although I wouldn’t know since I don’t have any kids). If all of my hobbies were children, photography would be my favorite. I started taking photos seriously in 2021. It has reshaped the way that I go about life. Where I would have normally just driven past something, now I take the time to stop, look at it from different angles to find the best shot, and take the picture. It really gets me to appreciate the beauty of this world, whether manmade or natural. Photography allows me to express myself through my surroundings and finding unique angles of ordinary things. If you ever see me taking photos and you see me in a weird position, just know that it is to get the shot.

Roller Coasters

Ever since I was a kid, I have loved roller coasters. Now that I am an adult, I still love roller coasters, but more. In fact, The Enthused Life got started on YouTube where I would talk about roller coasters. I can tell you just about everything there is to know about a roller coaster: who made it, the elements on it, what park it is in, and with a little help from the Roller Coaster Database (RCDB), all of the ride statistics. I am such a nerd that I have a spreadsheet of every roller coaster that I have ever been on. I’m a nerd. I know. But in my defense, they are really fun.

Travel

This is my newest hobby. Kind of. I’ve gone traveling for theme parks and every year my family has gone to Colorado, but that’s about the extent of it. Lately, camping has been one of the activities that I’ve really wanted to try. And so that’s partly the point of this blog. To document my travels and share my experiences with the world.

Music

My love of music comes in many different forms. Besides listening to countless genres, I play the drums, sing, make my own music (no, I haven’t published any songs), and DJ. But to DJ, you kind of need to listen to a lot of music. Fun fact about me is that I can sing the entirety of Hamilton by myself.
